VO Health’s Molecular Fitness Blood Test™ will utilize deep protein profiling to estimate VO₂ Max and characterize the biological pathways underlying cardiorespiratory fitness and performance.
We're proud to officially announce our partnership with proteomics technology company Nomic on the launch of our Molecular Fitness Blood Test™, the first self-collection proteomic blood test of VO₂ Max.
VO Health's mission is to put the human performance lab into a simple blood test. To create a new generation of biomarkers designed to measure human health and function, not just detect disease. Accomplishing this requires the world's most advanced molecular technology–that's why we chose Nomic Bio's high-throughput Omni 1000 platform, which measures more than 1,000 proteins from a small blood sample with absolute quantification.
Pairing Nomic's scalable, cutting-edge technology with our proprietary dataset, one of the world's largest linking the human proteome to gold-standard VO₂ Max tests, we developed a 50-protein algorithm that estimates VO₂ Max and reveals the biological pathways driving it: oxygen transport, inflammation, vascular and muscle function, and metabolism.
“The ability to estimate VO₂ Max from a blood draw allows us not only to make this critical metric more accessible, but to go several layers deeper," said Brooks Leitner, CEO, VO Health. “For the first time, proteomic profiling can capture the integrated performance of multiple biological systems and deliver actionable insights into the mechanisms underlying the result.”
Together, we're taking molecular intelligence out of the research lab and putting it in the hands of consumers for the first time. Huge thank you to Milad Dagher and the Nomic team for their partnership as we bring this product to the world.
